Nigeria is an important strategic partner of China in Africa, and the development of bilateral relations has enjoyed a sound momentum in recent years, with practical cooperation in various fields yielding fruitful results. The two countries have supported each other on issues involving respective core interests and major concerns, and have closely coordinated in international and regional affairs. The 20 states in southern Nigeria covered by the consular district of the Consulate General are traditional industrial and commercial and resource-rich areas, and are also places where a relatively large number of Chinese citizens in Nigeria live. The bilateral cooperation in various fields is fruitful, with great potential and broad prospects.

At present, new opportunities are opening up for the relationship between China and Nigeria. I, together with my colleagues, would like to follow the principles of sincerity, real results, amity and good faith, and of pursuing the greater good and shared interests in developing China’s relations with Africa, and practice the principle of diplomacy for the people, more actively and innovatively provide quality and efficient consular services to the overseas Chinese and people from all walks of life in the region, and constantly take the China-Nigeria strategic partnership to new heights.
